17 Year Old Girl Dies of Liver Failure After CIGNA HEALTH CARE MALICIOUSLY REFUSES TO PAY FOR LIVER TRANSPLANT

LOS ANGELES, CA –Seventeen year-old Nataline Sarkisyan died of Liver Failure at UCLA Medical Center, after CIGNA Healthcare Insurance callously and maliciously refused to pay for a liver transplant. CIGNA falsely claimed that the lifesaving transplant was “experimental” and not covered by her insurance plan. CIGNA’s murderous actions removed Nataline from the transplant list and directly caused her horrific death. Even after pressure from Nataline’s family, attorneys, and the community, CIGNA still waited for over a week knowing that Nataline would fall into a coma and die. Corporate HMO CIGNA maliciously delayed paying for a liver transplant operation so that Nataline’s condition would worsen and she would die. CIGNA did this to avoid paying for a liver transplant.  

Nataline died at 5:50 p.m., Thursday, December 20, 2007. In honor of her courageous battle for life, and her tragic and totally unnecessary death, her family and attorneys held a press conference detailing these horrific facts, and their quest for justice.
