| Eugene Patterson Harris |
Pat Harris practices in the area of Criminal law with
an emphasis on client management and the detail work involved in white collar
criminal cases with heavy paper documentation. In addition, he brings the firm
significant experience in politics and as such is invaluable in cases that are
tried in a politicized atmosphere. Mr. Harris has worked on many high profile
cases, including the Susan McDougal and Winona Ryder cases.
Mr. Harris began his career in politics working for then
Congressman Bill Alexander (D-AR) where he concentrated on both foreign and
domestic policy. Specifically, his areas of expertise were farm and agriculture
issues as they relate to the trade deficit.
Mr. Harris then developed expertise in the financial side of
real estate development and worked as a Vice President for Real estate
Development for Madison Financial Corporation in Little Rock, Arkansas. There he
acted as a liaison between the financial organization and the development
corporation for numerous real estate projects.
During law school, Mr. Harris clerked for Judge Ross Campbell
of the Michigan Circuit Court where he researched and drafted summary judgments.
He then took a position with the Davidson County Public Defenders Office where
he worked for two years in the felony courts.
In addition to his extensive work in politics and criminal
law, Mr. Harris is a New York Times best selling author. He wrote the Kaplan All in One Book for the Kaplan Educational services Test Prep
Course. The book is sold in the United States and in 18 countries. Mr. Harris’
latest book, lauded by the New York Times, is Susan McDougal: The Woman Who Wouldn’t
Talk; a fascinating story of one person’s fight against the criminal
justice system and the lawyers who helped her.
Mr. Harris received his B.A. from the University of Arkansas
and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He is admitted to
practice in Tennessee and California, Federal Court Central District. Eugene
'Pat' Harris practices Criminal Law and helps shape our national practice by
bringing significant expertise from his work as a Public Defender in Arkansas,
which is important in our increasingly expanding national criminal law practice
and our work with prominent political figures throughout the United States. Mr.
Harris was born in Clarksville, Arkansas.
